Siena is my home (for now).

Siena is my home (for now).

I am in love.

Truly, I fall in love every day. Every day is a gift here.

I’ve been in this city for a little over a week now, and I’ve come to realize just how lucky and thankful I am to be living in Siena. This medieval city is so small and charming. I find myself wandering in the evenings and happily getting lost through it’s labyrinth of streets and alleys (But you can almost never get completely lost; the city is on a hill… just go up!). I find myself seeing the same friendly faces every morning while walking to university, and every evening during passeggiata. I find myself enjoying life at a much, much slower pace. And don’t even get me started on the food…

One evening I strolled to the edge of the city, turned around, and was greeted by this lovely view.

I loved visiting other cities like Bologna, Rome, and Florence, but Siena is just a very small, very traditional town. I love that feeling. Compared to the other cities there really aren’t many crowds here. Sure you have day trippers from other cities, but in the mornings and evenings I’m surrounded by locals and I feel at home.  Siena is my home (for now).
